Noticeboard

For patients concerned that they may have coronavirus or may have come into contact with someone who has, the NHS 111 online service has created coronavirus pages that tell patients what they should do based on their particular circumstances.  These can be accessed at: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

Please access this page BEFORE calling NHS 111

We have been made aware that our patients are receiving phone calls, texts and letters from fraudsters. They will try and obtain your personal details and in particular your NHS number.

Scammers are sophisticated, opportunistic and will try many ways to get the information they want. They often target the vulnerable.

If you are suspicious, do not give any details over the phone, hang up and then ring your GP Practice to confirm.

IMPORTANT - COVID-19 INFORMATION UPDATES

A telephone triage system is in operation and if appropriate you will be offered a face to face appointment with one of our clinicians.

Patients that are attending the surgery will be required to wear a face covering.  Due to PPE demand we will not be able to supply you with a face covering and therefore ask for you to use your own.  Please see How to wear and make a cloth face covering

Patients Requesting Exemption Letters - Face Masks

Please note GPs cannot provide you with exemption letters or certificates or speak to patients regarding this matter as the government has clearly defined the exemptions to this requirement. This guidance suggests there is no requirement for evidence for exemption therefore it is sufficient for an individual to self-declare this.

The government guidance on exemptions

Government guidance to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 is that it is mandatory to wear a face mask on public transport and in all shops from July 24th.

There are certain groups of people that will be exempt from wearing a mask and they include:

- Children under 11

- People with disabilities

- People with breathing difficulties

- Those who are travelling with someone who relies on lip reading

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers#face-coverings

Some people don’t have to wear a face covering including for health, age or equality reasons. Some transport staff may not wear a face covering if it is not required for their job.

Stay safe and thank you for your cooperation.
